My work generally centers around the function of a clock. 99.5% of the materials are up-cylced, appearing up in my studio as if they were beckoned there. Growing up on a farm caused me to value the functional, while entertaining the ideas of whimsy & play. Each work that I do conveys a time theme linking our past & the present.
Materials are guaranteed to be rescued before they are thrown away, thus conserving even more resources. Materials are then sanitized & sealed within the work in an archival way. Enjoy the work and know you are making an impact saving our earth, one creative endeavor at a time.
I grew up on a farm in Ohio. At an early age of five I decided I was going to be an artist. My kindergarten art teacher was wonderful and I wanted to be just like her. I majored in printmaking in undergraduate school, and ceramics and metalsmithing in graduate school. I came to find my niche in mixed media and sculpture. It has seemed to fit into my life situations over the years. I relocated to Colorado,my husband’s childhood home a few years back. We are enjoying being back home with family and my work brings my culture, the rocky mountains and my constant obsession with up-cycling together.
